U.S. players are tired of talking tactics and Ronaldo, they just want to win By: MIKE FOSS 12 hours ago

SAO PAULO – Surrounded by a swarm of reporters on Thursday, Kyle Beckerman was inundated with questions about formations, the condition of Jozy Altidore, and how the U.S. was planning to deal with the washboard abs (and incredible skill and speed) of Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal’s greatest threat.

“We’ll be ready for them trying to come at us, or if they sit back, we gotta be ready for everything,” Beckerman said.

But what about Ronaldo!? Have you ever played against someone like Ronaldo?

“Yeah, sure, uh, [I played against] a guy named Messi,” Beckerman laughed. “They are unbelievable players and it’s fun to play against them, it’s what you want.”
