Tom Brady confronts officials after controversial final play

Should officials have picked up a pass interference flag?
There was pass interference.

On the final play of a Monday night thriller in Charlotte, Tom Brady tried to find Rob Gronkowski in the end zone for a game-winning touchdown with no time on the clock. When Brady’s pass arrived, Gronkowski was tied up with Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly and Carolina safety Robert Lester picked off the ball, ending the game. Or did he?

A flag in the end zone halted the celebration. For an instant, it looked like officials would call pass interference on Kuechly, giving New England an untimed down from the 1-yard line. Replays showed that the flag was justified.
