Well, ToyQuest took that idea one step further and created a series of NFL Professional Robots, or Probots, action figures featuring "automated" versions of the NFL's top players.

ToyQuest released their new NFL Probots sports action figures in time for the 2008 holiday season.
These eight inch figures are officially licensed with the National Football League and the NFL Players Inc. Ten different players were sold at Kay-Bee and Toy R Us stores nationwide.
The NFL Probots are fully articulated and feature a unique "flip head" mechanism that switches between the head of the player and their helmeted robot alter egos.
