CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Captain Munnerlyn has played for the Carolina Panthers long enough to know a bad defense. Remember 2011? Their defense was ranked 28th in the N.F.L.
Turns out Munnerlyn, a fifth-year cornerback, knows a good one when he sees it, too. And he saw something in this Panthers defense even before the season began.
