Aaron Rodgers leads Packers past Bears, into playoffs

12-30-RODGERS

CHICAGO – So what if Aaron Rodgers was rusty early Sunday afternoon.

By Sunday evening, he was spectacular.

BOX SCORE: Packers 33, Bears 28

Rodgers, in his first game in nearly two months, threw a 48-yard touchdown to Randall Cobb with 38 seconds remaining to lead the Green Bay Packers to a 33-28 win against the Chicago Bears in a winner-take-all game for the NFC North title.

The Packers converted two fourth downs, including the game-winning touchdown throw on fourth-and-8, on their final drive, as Cobb's touchdown stunned a sold-out crowd at Soldier Field that had already begun celebrating what they thought would be a Bears win.

Instead the Packers clinched the division title here for the second consecutive year.

But this time, it came under the most unlikely of circumstances.

The Packers went 2-5-1 in their eight games without Rodgers, and remained alive in the NFC North only because of stumbles by the Bears and the Detroit Lions over the past two months.

Now the Packers will get to host a playoff game next week at Lambeau Field against the San Francisco 49ers, and Rodgers will have another week to return to form after being cleared to play in the regular-season finale on Thursday.
