Nebraska’s last-second Hail Mary is the best finish of the 2013 season The Cornhuskers’ Hail Mary prayer is answered.

This is the payoff for watching college football on an otherwise meaningless Saturday.
By PAUL MYERBERG –

This is the best finish of the 2013 college football season. All other last-second plays – game-winning field goals, last-second defensive stops, etc. – pale in comparison against Nebraska quarterback Ron Kellogg III desperation heave to wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp, a play that will live in highlight reels and end-of-year montages for as long as Nebraska fields a team, which shows no sign of stopping.

An otherwise forgettable game – one defined by the Cornhuskers’ slap fight with Northwestern – took an epic turn late, when Nebraska, trailing 24-21 with four seconds left, took the game’s final snap needing a touchdown to remain in the Big Ten race.

What happened next is the stuff of legends, and should be watched and re-watched and shared with all of your friends. Cue Kellogg III to Westerkamp, via Kevin McGuire:
